Kencot SDA To Help Jamaican Families heal thru FREE Psychological Counselling Series


The Kencot Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrates Family Relational Health and Healing Week at the Kencot SDA Church grounds from Wednesday, December 9 until Tuesday, December 15, 2015.

In a press release issued today, the church stated that FREE interactive seminars will be held from Wednesday to Friday nights from 7.00 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. The seminars continue on Saturday at 11.00 a.m. and resume at 4.30 p.m.

Top Psychologists and Medics among Seminar Leaders

These seminars will be facilitated by psychologists and medical doctors who will discuss strategies for dealing with stress, depression, loneliness, anger, anxiety, lack of forgiveness and hate, among other mental health issues.

Featured presenters, among them, Clinical Psychologist Anthony Gordon and Head of Dept for Surgery, Radiology, Anaethesia and Intensive Care, Professor Newton Duncan will also demonstrate the symbiotic relationship between mental health and physiological health and spiritual health.

On Sunday, December 12 , a FREE Clinic offering Psychological Counselling and Medical consultation services with psychologists and physicians as well as other health care professionals will be open to the public.

FREE psychological counselling continues on Monday and Tuesday December 14 and 15 from 6.45 p.m. to 8.45 p.m.

The social and economic challenges facing Jamaicans today have meant that many are not coping well with the day-to-day stresses of life. This FREE Family Relational Health and Healing Seminar and Counselling Service will provide opportunities for Jamaicans to learn critical coping skills, relationship-building strategies and the attendant health and wellness.
